Euthanasia Services

A compassionate procedure for cats and dogs suffering from chronic pain or terminal illness.

At Morrisburg Animal Hospital, we are pet owners just like you. We understand how you are feeling as your furry family member enters the final stage of their life. Our team is here for you to answer any questions you may have about our euthanasia process. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any of your concerns.

When is the right time for euthanasia?

At the end of the day, the decision is up to you and your loved ones. During a consultation at the hospital, we can discuss the options that you have at hand, and if euthanasia is a valid one at this point in time. Some signs that can help you with your choice are: if they have a terminal illness/ chronic pain that can no longer be managed with treatment if they can no longer feed or drink properly, if they no longer have control of their bodily functions, or if they can no longer be mobile on their own.

What happens during pet euthanasia?

Your pet will be given a drug by injection that will make them lose consciousness and cause their organs to fail. The procedure takes just a manner of minutes and it is completely painless for your pet. They will feel as if they are going to sleep.

Can I stay with my pet during their euthanasia?

Yes. Our team encourages you and your other loved ones to stay with your pet. We strive to make the room and the procedure as comfortable as possible for all of you. You will have as much time as you need to say your goodbyes and be there for your pet until the very end.
